Oh the shame....

I realize I haven't blogged in well over a month. I'm sorry! I was hoping my new blog would be up and running by now and I just can't bear to post anything pretty on this old one! So, I'm waiting patiently. I have lots to share, so it'll be worth it! Lots of new things in store for 2008 so get EXCITED!

Meanwhile I'll post a couple personal pics from over the holidays. I really never do that, maybe that will be something new for 2008 also!

Here's Rylie and I getting ready for our sleigh ride through this gorgeous neighborhood with tons of Christmas lights:

And this was just too funny...this is Ryan and Rylie with the "contract" she just signed in order to get a cell phone for Christmas. Ryan typed up this hilarious contract with the rules she has to follow to keep her new phone. He went so far as to include the line from Spiderman, "With great power comes great responsibility"! Look at her face, she's so excited. I was dying laughing:

I've got a lot of things happening in the upcoming months, including planning a wedding for MYSELF! I've got just a few weeks left until I marry the man of my dreams on February 9 so please pray for me in this "home stretch"! I feel like I have a whole new insight on being a part of a wedding...God help all of you who are currently planning one!

New blog SOON!

Britni & Jason - The "Anniversary" Session

These are my new friends from Hawaii! Britni contacted me as soon as I booked my trip to Hawaii about doing some pictures for her, but I didn't know until I got there that she was putting on her wedding dress! I was so excited...I even tried my hand at bouquet making. I think I did pretty good, but I have a newfound respect for florists! This turned into an accidental trashing. We kept getting closer to the shoreline and a wave just came out of nowhere and got Britni's dress wet. I felt so bad...it made for cool pictures but hopefully it gets cleaned ok! Their dog, Malibu, also joined us for a few pictures. I realized that even on my Hawaiian vacation, my favorite thing to do is take pictures. I love my job!

Ready for a new look?!

It's coming soon! My new website!! I've been working for the last couple months with Ross from Flosites on a custom designed website. It was a lot harder than I thought...I had a TON of images to go through for the last few years that I wanted to be on the site. So even if your wedding was 2 or 3 years ago, you'll have to search and find at least a picture or two! But here's a sneak peak at my new logo. I've fallen in love with the pink and brown color scheme (they're my wedding colors for February!) so that's going to be the theme for the new site! I should have my new blog launched sometime next week, so that should hold everyone over til the site is ready!

Finally, I Trashed the Dress!!

What did everyone do for Thanksgiving this year? Ryan and I had the pleasure of flying to Hawaii to visit my sister, Sarah, and brother-in-law, Logan! You may remember them from pictures earlier in the year. We had an amazing dinner, and even did a few adventuresome things that I'll show you later! Sarah's friend, Britni, hired me to take pictures of her and her husband while we were out there - those are my next post! So I had all my gear, and Sarah's wedding dress was just hanging in her closet so I talked her into trashing it! We got up early Sunday morning and had some fun, as you can tell! I honestly don't think we ruined it, it's at the cleaners. I'll let you know how it turns out! Once we got her in the ocean it turned into a big soggy, heavy mess, so it was definitely a learning experience! Here's a few of my favorites!

I know this picture isn't the greatest, but you can get the general idea! We went cage diving Saturday morning with sharks! I've always wanted to do this and it was amazing, but the water was really rough so I got bruised up a bit. We have a cool underwater camera and it was all Ryan could do to get a picture of me with a shark in the background. We were surrounded by about 30 Galapagos sharks, 5-8 feet long. Everyone got seasick except for me! This was definitely an adventure only I was interested in...thanks guys!

Later that same day, we went on another "adventure" that everyone enjoyed except me. A hike to the "pillboxes" to see the full moon - Sarah's friend Emily said it was an easy 15 minute hike, but not for me! I was dying! This is the last part of the trail where it got easier, but the first part was straight up and rocky! I never claimed to be a mountain climber...

I had to get a picture of the view! I look a lot happier than I felt...

Here's the view of the city once it got darker. We didn't wait for the moon to come out - we realized if we did we'd be climbing back down in the dark and the daylight was hard enough!

Welcome Garrett!

Everyone welcome Garrett Christopher to the world! He's finally here! The big belly you saw a month or so ago, is now gone and we're left with an adorable little man. I got to take these pics when he was a week and a half old. Family pictures are coming up next! I'm working hard on his announcements Michelle, they'll be ready soon!

Jennifer & Charles Nobel 10.29.07

I had a busy weekend! I drove up to Black Mountain, North Carolina on Sunday for Jenn and Chuck's gorgeous Monday wedding. They put me up in a great little cabin on the property of Lake Eden which is where the wedding was. Sunday night they had a laid back rehearsal BBQ in the barn and then made smores by a bonfire for the rest of the night! The weather got down to the 30s at night and mid 50s during the day but we stayed warm running all over taking pictures! The scenery was amazing and made my job incredibly easy, as you can tell!

It was great getting to work with you guys! Have a safe trip back to Ft. Lauderdale and enjoy a little sneak preview!

How cool is this pumpkin?! I thought it was real at first but it's not so they can enjoy it forever!

Jackie & Scott Heiser 10.27.07

Here are some of my favorites from the wonderful wedding of Jackie and Scott last Saturday! These are two good friends of my sister and me so it was awesome getting to photograph this important day for them. Jackie even said I made her feel like a "rock star"! That's when I know I'm doing my job...I think she looks like a rock star in the pictures below, you'd never know her poor hairdresser got into a wreck on the way and never made it to do her hair. Despite that and a rained in ceremony, it didn't seem to dampen their spirits. They wrote their own vows which had me tearing up (both Scott's sister sobbed through the whole thing), and yet another super sweet mother/son dance.

Have fun in Mexico guys! See you when you get home!

See what I mean? The sweetest thing EVER!

This is what Scott looked like after Jackie got through feeding cake to him...
